Job Description Job Description Key Responsibilities Prepare structural steel shop drawings for approval and fabrication using AutoCAD LT Produce steel erection plans and detail individual steel members Prepare material takeoffs from plans and specifications Develop data-sheet packages and WPS procedures for submittals Review drawings for accuracy, constructability, and compliance Prepare RFIs / Requests for Clarification as needed Revise and correct drawings throughout the project lifecycle Follow company standards, detailing practices, and procedures Qualifications Experience with structural steel detailing (required) Strong knowledge of steel profiles, weld symbols, terminology, and detailing standards Proficiency in AutoCAD Solid construction math and geometry skills Ability to work independently and focus for extended periods Strong attention to detail and organization Good verbal and written communication skills Willingness to learn and continuously improve Preferred (Not Required) Experience working directly with fabrication shops Familiarity with public works or commercial steel projects Ability to review drawings for errors and constructability issues Compensation & Benefits $43 – $57 per hour , depending on experience (Equivalent to approximately $90,000 – $120,000 annually) Full-time, long-term position Stable workload and growing company Collaborative in-house team environment PTO & 401K Company Description Troy’s Ornamental Iron Craft is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Structural Steel Detailer to join our in-house technical team.
