Job Description Job Description We are hiring an experienced and
dedicated Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney to join our
California legal team. Candidates should possess 1–15 years of
experience handling workers' compensation matters and a solid grasp
of California's workers' compensation statutes and procedures. This
role involves representing employers, insurance carriers, and
third-party administrators across all stages of litigation. Primary
Responsibilities: Case Representation: Manage all phases of
workers' compensation cases, including investigation, discovery,
depositions, hearings, trials, and appeals. Client Counseling:
Develop and present strategic legal advice and defense plans to
achieve optimal results. Research & Documentation: Prepare
pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents supported by
detailed legal research. Case Analysis: Review and interpret
complex medical, legal, and factual materials. Communication:
Maintain professional and effective communication with clients,
opposing counsel, judges, and other parties involved. Negotiation:
Lead settlement discussions and advocate firmly for client
interests. Legal Knowledge: Monitor developments in workers'
compensation law and incorporate updates into case strategies.
Professional Growth: Participate in ongoing legal education and
skill development to ensure continued excellence. Required
Qualifications: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Active membership in the California State Bar. 1–15 years of
experience in workers' compensation defense. Strong command of
California workers' compensation laws and procedures. Exceptional
analytical, negotiation, and communication abilities. Demonstrated
success managing a busy caseload with strong organization and
follow-through. Proven record of effective case outcomes.
Proficiency with legal research platforms and case management
systems. Capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience representing clients of
various sizes, from small businesses to large corporations. Prior
trial experience in workers' compensation matters. Bilingual
ability— Spanish preferred. Compensation and Benefits: Salary:
$90,000 – $185,000 plus bonus potential, based on experience.
